Effects of chitosan-collagen dressing on wound healing in vitro and in vivo assays

The present study was designed to fabricate a new chitosan-collagen sponge (CCS) for potential wound dressing applications. CCS fabricated by 3.0% chitosan mixture with 1.0% type I collagen (7:3(w/w)) through freeze-drying. Then the prepared evaluate its properties series of tests. new-made demonstrated safety toward NIH3T3 cells. Moreover, moisture rates were increased more rapidly blank groups. results revealed that had characteristics nontoxicity, biocompatibility, good antibacterial activity, water retention. We used full-thickness excisional healing model in vivo efficacy dressing. remarkable at 14th day post-operation compared injuries treated only as negative control addition only. Our suggest identified promising candidate further application.
